Cassian Andor spinoff set for 2021 on Disney+ service
A live-action Star Wars TV spinoff is getting another familiar voice.
Sci-fi fan favorite Alan Tudyk is returning as the voice of K-2SO, a reprogrammed Imperial security droid serving Rebel Alliance intelligence’s Cassian Andor, in a TV spinoff and prequel to the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Diego Luna was previously announced to return as Andor — who, you may remember, has been in this fight since he was 6 years old.
Lucasfilm said Thursday that the series would depict “the formative years of the Rebellion.”
“The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. A release date for the series has not yet been announced. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for the latest updates.”
The Americans’ Stephen Schiff has been named as showrunner and executive producer for the series, set to debut in 2021 on the Disney+ streaming service.
