Macra Terror: See Patrick Troughton’s Doctor Who title sequence animated in color

Featured Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television

One of Doctor Who’s early lost stories, “The Macra Terror,” has been re-created as an animated release. And if you live in the BBC’s region, it’s available now on Blu-ray and DVD and as a digital download. There’s also a gorgeous steelbook edition that I hope we get Oct. 8, when the story is available in Region 1 for U.S. fans.

“The Macra Terror” isn’t just animated in black and white like the live-action 1967 episodes — there’s also a full-color version, and it may be the first time the Patrick Troughton Doctor’s distinctive title sequence can be seen in glorious “colour.” You can actually experience it for yourself right now on YouTube.
