Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated returns with new episodes Monday

Cartoon Network brings back Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated on Monday. Possibly the most self-referential show on TV right now, with decades of material to draw upon, it’s not your typical Scooby-Doo — there are puzzling story arcs and something actually resembling character development. It’s kind of like the animated Buffy we were teased with but never got.

For the season premiere, we find the Meddling Kids reuniting after a terrible secret tore them apart.

With the gang split up, Crystal Cove is being tormented by an evil-man-baby called “Crybaby Clown.” Fred is off searching for his real parents. Shaggy is in military school. Scooby is locked up on a farm. Only Velma remains. She convinces Mayor Nettles to help get Mystery Incorporated back together.

Watch a clip below — I’ll give you another on Monday along with some more spoilery plot information.
