Here’s a roundup of the sci-fi offerings on TV Friday (5/9):

Doctor Who
The Doctor (David Tennant) takes Donna (comedian Catherine Tate) on her first excursion to the future and runs into some old acquaintances: the tentacle-faced Ood, who are still willing slaves to humanity. But for how long? The episode “Planet of the Ood” airs 9 p.m. on Sci Fi. It’s a sequel to Series Two’s two-parter “The Impossible Planet-The Satan Pit.”

Battlestar Galactica
Stricken with problems from cancer to mutiny, the president and Starbuck (Mary McDonnel, Katee Sackhoff, pictured at right) each must make difficult decisions when presented with a possible alliance with the Cylons. The episode “Faith” airs 10 p.m. on Sci Fi.

The Sarah Jane Adventures
Two half hour episodes: Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen) must save her son from insectile aliens who recruit laser-tag champions to fight their wars for them; Sarah Jane is erased from history and only her neighbor Maria (Yasmin Paige) remembers her. The episode “Warriors of Kudlak” airs at 8 p.m. and the episode “Whatever Happened to Sarah Jane?” airs at 8:30 p.m. on Sci Fi.
