Star Trek: Picard

Patrick Stewart’s spinoff series is called Star Trek: Picard

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television

Though it’s apparently coming in the next year, the now-titled Star Trek: Picard series from CBS All Access has no official release date yet.

I don’t mind the name, but I’m still trying to reconcile the logo’s use of 1960s Star Trek typography with a thoroughly Next Generation icon.

From CBS’ “upfront” presentation, there’s a very small sneak peak at legendary Starfleet Captain Jean Luc-Picard in his later years (and a peripheral glimpse of what looks like Deep Space Nine/Voyager-inspired Starfleet uniforms — black with colored shoulders by division — back in service two decades later):

In addition to Stewart, the Picard cast will include Santiago Cabrera, Isa Briones, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd and Josh Morris.
