PHOENIX — The season three finale of Riverdale hit us hard!
They did not hold back with the surprises and suspense with this one.
If you have not seen the last episode of this season, do not read on. Though if you read the title, you really should have known.
Basically, we finally find out who the Gargoyle King is (thanks a lot Chic), Penelope Blossom is behind all the madness, and Betty and Jughead’s half brother is alive. But wait, there’s more!
At the end of the episode, there is a mysterious scene. Betty, Archie and Veronica are all standing around a fire in the forest, in their underwear, and covered in blood.
It is clear the trio have gotten themselves in a heap of trouble, but where is their fourth member? But where is Jughead?
Betty tells the group they will burn their clothes (including Jughead’s beanie), wash themselves off in the creek, graduate from high school, and never speak about any of this.
Yeah, that sounds intense.
It is confirmed this season finale climax is a flash-forward to next season, meaning we will figure out how they got there in season four.
Fans all over are creating their own theories as to what is actually going on in this scene. Some believe Jughead is already dead, and the team is removing the evidence of whatever lead up to his fate. Others think that maybe Jughead was the one who did the crime and B, A and V are trying to cover for him.
Can they really kill of Jughead? Normally I would say no… but this is Riverdale. Honestly, anything is possible.
One thing that we do know is that Riverdale fans will be spending all summer freaking out over this one scene.
Riverdale season four will premiere in fall of 2019.
