Star Wars live-action series writer and executive producer Jon Favreau has lifted some of the mystery shrouding his project, revealing a title and synopsis Wednesday on Instagram.

THE MANDALORIAN

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic….

The Mandalorian does not yet have an announced release date, but it will stream exclusively on Disney’s upcoming new over-the-top video service.

Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard among episode directors for The Mandalorian!

According to Lucasfilm, the series premiere will be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone WarsStar Wars Rebels). Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

A single image of a familiar-armored figure on The Mandalorian’s set (above) was shared by Disney on Thursday to mark the start of production.
