At the Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con International on Thursday, BBC America revealed the first teaser footage for the brand new season, featuring Jodie Whittaker along with co-stars Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole.
No release date for the fall premiere was announced.
Offering a taste of what’s in store for viewers, the trailer sees the Doctor and her new friends, Ryan Sinclair (Cole), Yasmin Khan (Gill) and Graham O’Brien (Walsh), traveling through space and time:

The trailer was more substantial than the teaser released over the weekend during the World Cup finals:
It was nearly a year ago, after the men’s final at Wimbledon, that we learned Peter Capaldi’s outgoing Twelfth Doctor would be followed by Whittaker. In the 2017 Christmas special, Capaldi bowed out after three seasons, his version of the Doctor succumbing to injuries sustained the previous season at the hands of the Cybermen in a Pyrrhic victory that led him to declare he wanted his life to end permanently at last.
Regenerating in the TARDIS after an encounter with his original incarnation and finally deciding that “one more lifetime wouldn’t kill anyone,” Whittaker’s face replaces his and the Thirteenth Doctor tries to pilot the craft, which spins out of control and ejects her into the night far above what appears to be a city … “TO BE CONTINUED”!
