Fox is kicking off a yearlong 20th anniversary celebration of The Simpsons starting today with a poster contest. Fans can “unleash their yellow” (ew) and submit entries that reflect America’s most dysfunctional animated family in everyday life, “whether it’s a cob of corn that reminds them of Marge, a billowing cloud that looks like Homer or a picket fence that resembles the spikes of Bart’s hair.”
Contestants must be 18 or older and can submit posters using their original art and/or supplied assets available online at thesimpsons.com. The deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern on March 4. The top 10 finalists will see their entries on the Web site, with the winner to be revealed April 5.
The winning creator will receive a trip to Los Angeles to attend the 21st season premiere party for the show and tickets to The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. Also, artwork may be incorporated into the series’ fall 2009 marketing campaign. For official rules and more information, visit thesimpsons.com.
I wish I had the talent to produce a good poster for the simpsons 20th anniversary contest. I love the simpsons. But at least there are others (as I see here) that share an interest still.
