Doctor Who Series 12

Doctor Who: Series 12 trailer released

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television

The first trailer for Doctor Who Series 12 was released on Saturday, Nov. 23 — the program’s 56th anniversary.

Filming on Season 12, or 38 if you count the original 1963-86 run, reportedly wrapped up last month.

No specific release date was announced, other than “early 2020” again. Guest stars Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry could be seen in the brief teaser trailer. As could a worried Doctor (“Something’s coming for me”) (Jodie Whittaker) — and the Cybermen!

Will this year get a Christmas special or will that give way, like last year, to a New Year’s Day special or something else? That New Year’s special, “Resolution,” was the first time since 2005 the series skipped Christmas, and the only new Doctor Who so far in 2019. Could that be about to change?
