PHOENIX – The 3-part series for the annual Arrowverse crossover finally has a name…”Elseworlds.”
This term is used with comics when the story is separate from DC continuity. An example of this is Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son in which Superman was raised in the Soviet Union. The idea is to take our beloved characters and put them into a foreign environment and see how they react to different events. The new environment appears to be Gotham City. So what kind of trouble will our superheros be getting into?
The title says little about what the plot of the crossover will be, but there a few details we are sure about.
The series will feature characters from Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl. Not to mention, Ruby Rose will be debuting during the series as Batwoman. Her character Kate Kane will also be receiving her own show on the CW. Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch, will also be making an appearance.
Also, a new villain is being introduced. The Monitor or Mar Novu is coming to television. Played by LaMonica Garret, the Monitor is describes as “an extraterrestrial being with infinite power known as the Monitor.” Marv Wolfman and George Perez created the character and featured him in the comic miniseries “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” This leads us to speculate that the multiverse is in danger.
A cartoon image of the new character was shared on Twitter.
