Castlevania Season 2, coming Oct. 26 on Netflix, finally has a trailer, which debuted Saturday at Asia Pop Con.
Netflix’s animated Castlevania returns for second season Oct. 26
Castlevania, written by Warren Ellis and produced by Adi Shankar, is an anime series based loosely on the Konami NES game Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. The first season is on Netflix now. You can read our thoughts on the show and its soundtrack.
Sunday update: Ellis dropped some intriguing notes about the production in his weekly newsletter:
There’s the voice of an unannounced actor in there. We added several more cast members for S2. And it’s eight episodes long. And we’re still working on it. Within an hour of waking up on Friday I was doing notes on the score for one of the episodes. It eats up a lot of time. This show has a lot of moving parts, and it’s hand-drawn animation, which is why it’s beautiful. But it takes time.
And I think everyone still wants to murder me because of one of the action setpieces.
