PHOENIX – The CW could be expanding its list of shows based on our favorite DC Comics with a new series about Batwoman.
At first, the character was just going to make her TV debut in The CW’s annual crossover event, but now, the network is developing a standalone series about the superhero that could premiere in 2019 if it gets picked up.
The series could be huge for LGBTQ representation. Batwoman, a.k.a. Kate Kane, runs the streets of Gotham as an out lesbian and trained street fighter. She’s outspoken, passionate and fierce but has demons to face in order to protect Gotham.
If Batwoman does debut as a series on The CW, the show would join the likes of The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning.
