If you’ve been watching Smallville from way back, you remember the very first person to learn Clark Kent’s (Tom Welling) Super secret: faithful friend Pete Ross (Sam Jones III, right). He eventually couldn’t deal and left Smallville for the big city (Wichita!), ne’er to be seen again.
Until now! Now that half the planet knows about Clark’s alien powers, he’s back (after numerous guest appearances on ER) in the March 13 episode as a roadie for the real-life band One Republic. Attending the concert is one Kara Zor-El/Kent and one Jimmy Olsen (Laura Vandervoort, Aaron Ashmore) – both of whom joined Clark’s entourage long after Pete’s departure.
This time, it’s Pete’s turn to play around with superpowers after being exposed to Kryptonite gum!

Casting developments
In other Smallville news, it’s looking like neither Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) nor Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) – pictured below – will be returning for the series’ upcoming eighth season. That’s according to unnamed sources cited on TVGuide.com.
