‘Stargate SG-1’ premiere — now with less skin

cotgThe 1997 series premiere of Stargate SG-1 is getting a DVD makeover that includes a boob job.

“Children of the Gods,” which marked the beginning of a 10-year run for the spinoff of the 1994 feature film Stargate, is being remastered and remixed with a new score from Jerry Goldsmith and voice recording from cast member Christopher Judge (“Teal’c”). Also, the infamous full-frontal nudity scene of Vaitiare Bandera (“Sha’re”) being possessed by a snakelike alien has been recut to be as squeaky-clean as the rest of the series.

Showtime, which launched the series that later moved to Sci Fi, reportedly insisted on the gratuitous skin.

The disc, which will be available July 21, also includes a new restrospective and audio commentary from co-writer and -creator Brad Wright and series star Richard Dean Anderson (“Jack O’Neill”). Source: GateWorld
