‘Scooby-Doo’ is back – and he’s bringing some old friends

It’s a toon reunion of sorts when Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated returns for the second half of its first season tonight on Cartoon Network.

Coming just a month after the wacky appearance by those meddling kids in the channel’s Batman: The Brave and the Bold, this outing sees them attending a Teen Mystery Solver’s Convention — and when all the sleuths get kidnapped it’s up to the sidekicks, led by the Great Dane detective himself, to save the day. Blast-from-the-past guests include such Hanna-Barbera characters as Jabberjaw (talk about jumping the shark!), Speed Buggy and Captain Caveman.

Here are some preview clips, stills and a description of “Mystery Solvers Club State Finals”:

The Mystery Inc. gang has been invited to compete in the annual “Teen Mystery Solver’s Convention” A weekend affair where mystery-solving teams from around the country compete to solve a mystery. But when the mystery turns out to be the disappearance of the teams themselves, it is up to the team sidekicks – led by Scooby-Doo – to find out what’s behind it all. And this mystery needs to be solved by the end of the weekend… or they’ll never see their friends again.
