Just in time for Halloween, Marvel Zombies 2 hits comic book stores this week. This sequel continues the tale of a Marvel Universe in which most of Earth’s superheroes and villains have been infected by an unknown disease and turned into ravenous zombies!

After several spin-offs, tie-ins and crossovers, the entire award-winning creative team from the original Marvel Zombies returns for a true sequel, including writer Robert Kirkman (Invincible, Ultimate X-Men), interior artist Sean Phillips (Criminal, Hellblazer) and cover artist Arthur Suydam.
Even before writing 2006’s Marvel Zombies, Kirkman had proven his abilities to write a great zombie tale with his work on The Walking Dead, published by Image. If you like horror, zombies or intense character driven stories, check it out. Don’t let the fact that it’s in black-and-white scare you off. George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead was in black-and-white too!
Sean Phillips has also proven himself more than capable of working on creepy stuff. He had a lengthy run on Vertigo’s Hellblazer. More recently he’s worked on the gritty spy thriller, Sleeper.
Arthur Suydam has practically created a cottage industry with his zombie homages to famous covers from Marvel history. The covers have proven to be so popular that Marvel has compiled a hardcover collection of the assorted covers.
With such a creative pedigree as this one, it’s easy to predict Marvel Zombies 2 will be no-brainer to pick up. So lurch on down to your local comic book store and tell ’em “Braaaaaains!” Errrrr…..make that “Marvel Zombies!”
