Fans of science fiction and fantasy will gather this weekend in Casa Grande for three days of panels, art shows, dancing, stargazing and more.
LepreCon 34 will host Howard Tayler, creator of the Shlock Mercenary Web comic; authors Emily & Ernest Hogan; and special effects/makeup artist David Ayres, who grew up in Mesa and has worked on films such as Halloween, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Buck Rogers and the original Battlestar Galactica.
Writer, editor, artist and RPG designer Liz Danforth is the local guest of honor.
Also, Chase Masterson (pictured), who played the vivacious Bajoran saloon girl Leeta in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and lent her voice talents to Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, will be at the convention to screen her new sci-fi/noir film, Yesterday Was a Lie — which also features Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew.
Full information about the guests and events can be found at the convention’s Web site. All the action will be taking place at the Francisco Grande Hotel & Golf Resort, 26000 W. Gila Bend Highway, Casa Grande.
