Who let the dolls out?

Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Television

Doctor Who, after returning from a midseason break to turn the River Song mystery completely on its head last week with “Let’s Kill Hitler,” is back to house calls. Specifically, responding to a call for help from a little boy who is having “Night Terrors” — and who, of course, is himself more than he appears.

It’s a welcome respite from the Silence conspiracy and the endless, bitter war against the Doctor, as fun as those things may be. It’s also a rather fun romp with creepy dolls, capable companions and the atmospheric blight of urban decay.

Next week, “The Girl Who Waited”:

Amy is trapped in a quarantine facility for victims of an alien plague — a plague that will kill the Doctor in a day. The Doctor can use the TARDIS to smash through time and break in, but then Rory is on his own. Can he rescue Amy before she is killed by kindness?
