TARDIS to get facelift

London’s Daily Mirror is reporting that the rickety old TARDIS will be redesigned in time for Matt Smith to take its helm as the star of Doctor Who in early 2010.

“BBC bosses have given the green light to completely refit the interior for a radical new look,” writes showbiz reporter Tom Bryant. The article also says the exterior of the time-space vehicle, which is permanently stuck in the shape of a 1960s British police box, will get a facelift for the series’ planned switch to HD filming — something any TV news anchor can surely identify with.
