TheForce.Net is reporting that Cartoon Network will air a half-hour special 8 p.m. tonight (Friday, Sept. 26) to drum up excitement for next Friday’s launch of the CGI TV series The Clone Wars.

It’s hosted by Ashley Eckstein, who plays Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano (above, going into battle with her mentor Anakin Skywalker).

Star Wars The Clone Wars DVD Lucasfilm Warner Bros.My cable guide still shows the Jumanji-in-space flick Zathura in that time slot (and that’s not even a cartoon — what gives?), but the Cartoon Network online schedule does indeed show a Star Wars: The Clone Wars Preview Special at 8 p.m. with Zathura at 8:30.

In related news, the theatrical film that kicked off The Clone Wars phenomenon back in August will be available on DVD and Blu-ray Nov. 11, according to the official Star Wars Web site. This will mark the first time any part of the Saga has been released in high-def.
