Wednesday evening marked the beginning of the 50th San Diego Comic-Con! 50 years old and it can kick and stretch and kick, it’s 50; 50 years old!!!

And these days, even that obscure SNL quote is right at home at this crazy international pop culture circus.

People gather here from around the world to celebrate comics, costumes, cool movies and everything in between; but Preview Night is typically reserved for getting the lay of the land and maybe, if the swag-gods are willing, you might even get your meat-hooks on that hard-to-get exclusive collectible you’ve been dying to have. (And sometimes death — or at least the selling of your soul — does seem to be a requirement.)
