See the Watchmen that’s not in Watchmen

Classic Dungeons & Dragons back in print! - Available now @ Dungeon Masters Guild
In an effort to pare down the mammoth scope of Watchmen, director Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, 300) decided early on to axe the “Tales of the Black Freighter” segments from the theatrical release. However, all was not lost, as he recognized that the “Tales” are an integral part of the graphic novel. To appease the fanboys and maintain his cred, he had them done as a separate straight to DVD animated feature. Now we get to see the first trailer and I’m pretty impressed so far. I still have grave reservations about Snyder’s ability to deliver a truly effective Watchmen movie, but hope springs eternal.

If that’s not enough Watchmen to tide you over for the next three weeks, there’s also an old-school side-scroller beat-’em-up on the UK version of the official Watchmen page. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s worth a few minutes of playtime, if only for the pseudo-nostalgia factor.
