Geek singer-songwriter Jonathan Coulton will be playing a show Feb. 18 at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale. His nerd-cred is strong, having worked with rapper MC Frontalot, comedian John Hodgman and performed at PAX on multiple occasions. He’s probably best known for his song “Still Alive” from the hit video game “Portal“. However, there are plenty more great songs in his catalog. You can listen to pretty much all of them for free here. (I highly recommend “Code Monkey,” “The Presidents,” “RE: Your Brains,” “I Feel Fantastic” and “Chiron Beta Prime”.)
And if that’s not enough to convince you, here’s a fact: I’m passing up on the chance to see Henry Rollins‘ spoken word tour to go see JoCo instead. And I really, really dig Henry Rollins.
Good choice going with JoCo. Saw his show here in Denver with Paul & Storm and it was AWESOME! One of my best concert experiences EVER!
