After nearly 20 years as a part of a duo with Beth McDonald on KEZ 99.9 FM’s morning show, former Valley TV weatherman Bill Austin is calling it quits. The announcement was made on the air at 7:30 a.m. after being teased on Twitter, then posted to the station’s website:
Starting Monday March 1, Beth will go it alone, with help from Little Vinnie, Marty, Lisa, and more. It’ll be good. We may just do another twenty years. And after almost 40 years in radio & TV, starting as a teenager in Roswell, New Mexico, Bill will finally get to sleep in and see some other parts of the world for more than a week at a time.
Now there will be no one left to grumble about Beth’s increasingly early Christmas carol marathons …
