Christopher Eccleston as John LennonThis November (schedule forthcoming) as part of its Masterpiece Contemporary collection, PBS will broadcast Lennon Naked, a biopic focusing on the life of John Lennon around the time of the Beatles’ legendary breakup.

Former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston will portray Lennon, and Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood ex-cast member Naoko Mori will portray Yoko Ono, the woman widely credited with sundering the band.

Eccleston played the time-traveling hero known as the Doctor in the 2005 revival of Britain’s long-running sci-fi drama. He left the role after just one season, turning it over to David Tennant, who has since yielded the mantle to Matt Smith.
