Not too long ago, in a galaxy not so far, far away, the gadget purveyors at ThinkGeek caused an Internet sensation with its April Fool’s Day prank of an exclusive Star Wars-themed sleeping bag in the shape of a Tauntaun creature like the one Han Solo eviscerated to provide shelter for a wounded Luke Skywalker on Planet Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back.
The prank caused such a stir, in fact, that the e-tailer was Forced to get permission to make and sell the item for real.
Now, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Empire, ThinkGeek is selling a bear rug in the form of the Wampa creature that gave Luke his scarring injuries (which were used to explain away scars that Mark Hamill suffered in real life before filming of the Star Wars sequel got under way).
No foolin’.
But slave-girl Princess Leia, sadly, not included.
