The second installment of online sci-fi spoof Voyage Trekkers shows just why this kind of satire is needed: Star Trek has taken itself seriously for so long that a convoluted reboot plot was needed to make it fresh for a new generation — when all they really needed to do was stir some self-referential humor and a bit of flawed humanity into the intermix chamber.
