A Hong Kong company has created what it calls “the most dangerous laser ever created.” Although it certainly looks like a Jedi lightsaber, the Spyder III Pro Arctic has a blue 1-watt laser that can cause “immediate and irreversable retinal damage” and burn skin. But it comes with safety glasses.
Before you get too excited and join up to fight the Separatist menace: the unit is part of Wicked Laser’s home theater projector, and while it only costs a shade under $200, the company warns that “supplies are extremely limited as voluntary and regulatory restrictions increase the difficulty to purchase Class IV portable lasers.”
