The Other Guys: Another Buddy-Cop Comedy?

Will Ferrell teams up with an unlikely co-star, Mark Wahlberg, in the much-hyped summer comedy, The Other Guys.

While Ferrell shines as the subdued Detective Gamble, it’s Wahlberg’s Detective Hoitz that grates on the nerves. It’s nice to see Ferrell take a back seat, delivering a surprisingly restrained performance. But Wahlberg seems to think he has to compensate for this.

Add to this the totally wasted performances by Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Eva Mendes and you have a not-so-comic summer flick on your hands.
