M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender has been getting horrid reviews, especially from the king of cinema reviews, Roger Ebert. Add to that accusations of racist casting and The Last Airbender has several hurdles to overcome, even before audiences sit in a theatre.
But while the race debate might hold some water and the movie is far from Oscar-worthy, I find most of the reviews overly harsh and narrow-minded.
