PHOENIX – Supergirl is flying into a theater near you!
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are in the early stages of developing a movie about the superhero. The writers have been hired but so far, no producer.
The last time Supergirl was on the big screen was in 1984 with Helen Slater as Supergirl. The film was the first English language superhero movie to feature a female lead. Despite breaking barriers, it only grossed $14.3 million at the box office in North America, making it a “box office bomb.”
More recently, the character of Supergirl has been played by Melissa Benoist in The CW series headed into its fourth season.
No release date has been given for the new Supergirl movie.
