The Official Star Wars Blog has word that the Star Wars-themed comedy Fanboys will finally be coming to Phoenix on Feb. 20.
The movie, which has seen a tortured route to the big screen, is set in 1998 and follows a group of friends — one of whom is dying of cancer — who decide to break into George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch to steal Episode I: The Phantom Menace so they can see it before anyone else.
Fanboys opened Feb. 6 in limited release. Cities that already have it are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Philadelphia’s, Seattle and Austin. It stars Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Jay Baruchel and Veronica Mars’ Kristen Bell, with appearances by Seth Rogen, Billy Dee Williams, William Shatner, Carrie Fisher and Kevin Smith.
Stay tuned for details on which Valley theater(s) will feel the Force.

Really glad it finally got released, esp with its cancer sub-plot intact. reckon Weinsteins’ limited release, is still gonna damage its chances of getting much of an international release. I’m in the UK, so will just wait for it to come out on DVD, that’ll do the trick 😉 Always sounds to me like Harvey Weinstein is chewing some seriously sour grapes. Kind of like Fanboys, thought you might be interested, but a bit more serious (probably not a many lightsaber=penis jokes) is ‘The People vs George Lucas’. Trailer was released on Friday,a documentary about Fanboys, trailer here:
