Star Wars: Episode IX director J.J. Abrams shared an emotional set photo Friday to announce the wrap of principal photography on the film, which is slated to debut in theaters Dec. 20, 2019.
Billed as the final entry in the Skywalker saga, Episode IX still doesn’t have a title or a trailer, but expect things to develop rapidly between now and April, when no doubt lots of news will burst forth from Star Wars Celebration Chicago.
We did learn this week that Oct. 4 will bring Triple Force Friday, a retail event unleashing products related to IX, the episodic streaming series The Mandalorian and EA/Respawn’s holiday action-adventure video game Jedi: Fallen Order.
It feels impossible, but today wrapped photography on Episode IX. There is no adequate way to thank this truly magical crew and cast. I’m forever indebted to you all. pic.twitter.com/138AprtFuZ
