See ‘Avatar’ greenly

In keeping with the environmentally friendly theme of James Cameron’s new sci-fi movie Avatar, AMC Desert Ridge and AMC Westgate are celebrating their IMAX grand openings by offering environmental credits to theater-goers. This Friday, attendees to the 7:15 p.m. showing at Desert Ridge and the 8:30 p.m. showing at Westgate will receive a certificate stating their carbon footprint has been offset for a week by EcoAid, as well as having a tree planted in their honor. Also, the first 150 patrons will receive a reusable IMAX grocery bag. If you were planning on seeing the film anyways, it’s a good excuse to soak in the amazing visuals in IMAX 3-D.
