PHOENIX – Sorry Ben Affleck, you’re out!
A younger Dark Knight is set to star in director Matt Reeves’ next Batman movie, The Batman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves is focusing specifically on a “younger, caped crusader” in the film, still in pre-production.
So by deduction, Affleck, who played Batman in 2016’s Batman v. Superman, will most likely not return to the iconic role.

In 2017, there were rumors that Affleck wasn’t going to return, following the announcement that he wouldn’t co-write or direct The Batman.
After Reeves reassured fans that Affleck would in fact return as Bruce Wayne, reports surfaced that the studio would put a new actor as Bruce Wayne just before the Warner Brothers’ presentation at the 2017 Comic Con International. Affleck responded saying he is very lucky to play Batman.
But after the disappointing performances in Justice League, it was reported that he wouldn’t reprise the role in Reeves’ film.
So fans everywhere are grinding their teeth in anticipation for what will happen in Reeves’ The Batman.
Who knows after all?!
