Brad Bird (Iron Giant, The Incredibles) is reportedly in talks to step out of the animated arena to direct Mission Impossible IV, which was announced earlier this year. The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog now also says the movie has been pushed back from Memorial Day Weekend 2011 to December of that year.

Perhaps even more potentially disturbing, Columbia Pictures has announced that Men in Black III will be released in 3-D on May 25, 2012.  Barry Sonnenfeld, who directed the first two installments of the blockbuster franchise, will direct and Steven Spielberg is set to executive produce.

Will Smith is confirmed to reprise his role as Agent Jay, and the studio is in advanced negotiations with Tommy Lee Jones to reprise his role as Agent Kay. Furthermore, Josh Brolin is also in talks to appear as a younger version of the crusty character.
