
Michael Kenneth Williams has been cast in the untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie in an unspecified role.
The actor is known for television roles from The Wire to Boardwalk Empire to the recent miniseries When We Rise. On the big screen, chances are you’ve seen him in 12 Years a Slave, RoboCop (2014), The Road and Gone Baby Gone, as well as Ghostbusters (2016) and Assassin’s Creed.
The Han Solo spinoff, which is set between the two Star Wars trilogies, also stars Alden Ehrenreich as Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, as well as Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directed a script by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon.
Update: Williams was replaced in the production by Paul Bettany.
