Star Wars: Episode IX may be having its share of troubles behind the scenes, coming after a cargo hold full of Han Solo problems and overblown Rogue One reshoots, but Episode VIII — The Last Jedi appears to be safely in the can. Director Rian Johnson announced in an Instagram post Thursday that post-production on the film had wrapped.

That’s well ahead of the film’s Dec. 15 release date. That does mean, bittersweetly, that the late Carrie Fisher’s final performance as Leia Organa is almost upon us.

Now the question remains: When will we see the trailer? A teaser was released back in April at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, but the full trailer has yet to materialize. Rumors — started by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, in a Tweet since deleted — have been swirling around Monday Night Football on Oct. 9. Will that come to pass? Always in motion is the future …

Aaaand that’s a wrap on the hardest working post production team in the galaxy. Going to miss sitting in dark rooms with these goobers.
