terminatorVariety reports that Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear in the upcoming Terminator Salvation — or at least his likeness will.

The California governor has given director McG his blessings to use a digital version of his famous character from the 1984 James Cameron film The Terminator. The Variety article says the likeness will be based on a body-cast mold created when Schwarzenegger first played the musclebound robot.

Schwarzenegger last appeared in the series in 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, shortly before he entered a chaotic recall election to replace Gov. Gray Davis.

Salvation, starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, arrives in theaters May 21.
