eoThe Associated Press confirms earlier reports that Disneyland is dusting off the 1986 3-D musical short film Captain EO, which starred Michael Jackson and Anjelica Huston.

Produced by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, Captain EO closed down in 19941997, eventually to be replaced with another 3-D experience: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. The unofficial Disney Blog reported recently that the park showed the space opera to Jackson’s surviving family members — including the megastar’s children, who had never seen it.

Now we have a date for EO‘s return: February.
