Writer and director John Hughes has died at age 59. He died in New York of a heart attack according to his publicist. He was behind many of the films that helped define a generation of teens growing up. Hughes’ films managed to capture the feelings and essence of being young. Some of his most notable films include ‘The Breakfast Club,’ ‘Weird Science,’ ‘Home Alone’ and ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.’
I’ve been watching his movies for over twenty years and they still maintain their freshness and relevancy. Whenever I see one on television, I’m forced to stop and watch the whole thing and marvel at what a talent he was. The film world has lost a great one and many of us have lost an icon from our youth.
what a terrible loss…Huges was a genius !!
I love all his movies !!
Rest in peace…
