Alien: Covenant, the sequel to Prometheus and a more clear-cut prequel to Alien than its predecessor, will be coming out May 19, moving up from Aug. 4, according to the film’s simple yet terrifying teaser poster.

Alien: Covenant

Prometheus stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce return along with director Ridley Scott, with Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride and Demián Bichir joining the cast.

Covenant refers to a new starship sent to explore an uncharted paradise world, only to find it a dangerous planet inhabited only by the android David (Fassbender), the sole survivor (?) of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

As for the poster, its stark and deadly beauty represents an evolution (literally) of the “oozing egg” image used to promote 1979’s original Alien.
