Alright, don’t get excited! The role of a young Han Solo in 2018’s upcoming Star Wars standalone spin-off has been cast and, finally, announced to the world.
Alden Ehrenreich, 26, made waves in the Coen Brothers’ Hail Caesar! and he’s certain to do so as the future captain of the Millennium Falcon. He’s also appeared in the fantasy romance adaption Beautiful Creatures.
The untitled “anthology” film will be directed by LEGO Movie team Chris Miller and Phil Lord from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.
The duo appeared on stage together Sunday at Star Wars Celebration Europe to announce the casting, after months of unconfirmed reports in the Hollywood press, and introduce the actor.
A couple months back, Miller used the recent occasion of “May the Fourth,” aka “Star Wars Day,” to tease us with a tantalizing image of the smuggler’s iconic sidearm.
GARBAGE CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He’s a midget and doesn’t look like Harrison Ford.
Meanwhile we have this awesome guy, but you know. Agents and all striking deals.
