PHOENIX – TMZ is reporting that actor Luke Perry has died at age 52 after suffering a massive stroke last week.

Perry passed away due to “trauma from the stroke” at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank, Calif., according to TMZ. Doctors sedated Perry in hopes to help his brain recover, but the damage was too extensive.

Perry’s rise to fame started in the ’90s with Beverly Hills, 90210. Perry most recently portrayed Fred Andrews on The CW’s Riverdale. Last week, his Riverdale co-stars shared their messages of support on social media.

Perry leaves behind two children, Jack and Sophie.
