Beta sign-ups have gone live for Stargate Worlds, the MMORPG from Mesa-based Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. The first group of testers will be unleashed Oct. 15.

The game is set in the universe of the hit movie Stargate and its television spinoffs Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, which feature Air Force explorers traveling the galaxy through a series of ancient Stargates.

“From now until launch, everything we do is about polish and fun,” said Stargate Worlds studio head Dan Elggren. “We’ve laid a great foundation for the beta testers and their feedback is a vital part of the game development process.”

Stargate Worlds is scheduled for an early 2009 launch.
