If you like puzzle games, you’ll want to give Red Remover a shot. It’s a free web-based game at http://www.thegamehomepage.com/play/red-remover. Like most great puzzlers, the objective is simple. All you have to do is remove the red objects from the play area while ensuring that the green objects stick around. The game combines this simple premise with a robust physics engine for some of the most engaging and dynamic fun that I’ve seen lately.
The game manages to move along at a brisk pace tossing in just enough new wrinkles to stay fresh. There are 45 levels, but most take less than a minute to complete, successfully or not. The difficulty level is perfectly tuned. It’s hard enough to make you think, but never frustratingly hard. Just in case you do happen to get stuck, there are built in video walkthroughs to solve each level. I was thankful for this feature once (okay, twice). Just watch out once you start red removing, it’s tough to stop. It’s the reason why I’m still awake posting this at 4 a.m. instead of sleeping!
