October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to honor the fight Electronic Arts has released a limited edition of Madden NFL 09 with its cover framed in a pink ribbon — the international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Part of the proceeds from the Target-exclusive game will go to the Deanna Favre HOPE Foundation.
Deanna, the wife of ’09 Madden cover boy and ultimate flip-flopper Brett Favre, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. She survived the disease and became involved in educating women about its prevention.
The Wii version costs $49.99 and the Xbox 360 version costs $59.99.
Amazon is selling a limited-edition, polar-white Nintendo DS emblazoned with a pink ribbon — a portion of their proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Specifically, $5 from every $129.99 pink-ribbon DS purchased will go to the foundation, with Nintendo pledging a minimum of $100,000.
