Harmonix and MTV Games today added seven tracks from alternative grunge band Nirvana to the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content for the Wii.
The lineup includes seven master recordings from Nirvana’s 1991 album Nevermind including “Breed,” “Lounge Act,” “On a Plain,” “Polly,” “Something in the Way,” “Stay Away,” and “Territorial Pissings.” These tracks join “In Bloom” from the original Rock Band soundtrack and “Drain You” featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack for a total of nine Nirvana songs available in the Rock Band music catalog available to Wii owners.
The price per track is 200 Wii Points, or $2. Wii Points must be purchased throug the Wii Shop Channel and music through the in-game-Rock Band 2 Music Store.
This week’s offering comes from the Rock Band Music Store catalog of downloadable content already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Wii fans can expect a rollout of the previously released downloadable content until the entire back catalogue of more than 570 songs is available. In addition, the regularly scheduled future DLC releases for Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system will also be available for Rock Band 2 Wii owners soon.
