Today at E3, Nintendo announced that Super Mario Odyssey will be released Oct. 27, ahead of the holiday season.
The 3-D sandbox adventure is the first mainline Mario game for the new Switch console. It looks absolutely bonkers, and that’s just great.
Odyssey refers to the name of Mario’s starship. Apparently, you must collect Moons to power it so you can rescue Princess Peach from matrimonial mayhem at the hands of bad old Bowser.
Plus, if you’ve ever wanted amiibo figurines of Mario, Bowser and Peach in formal wedding attire, you’re in luck! This plumber always dresses for the occasion.

First, though, there’s E3’s worst-kept secret, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, which is really turning heads. It comes out Aug. 29.
